Leigh Florist, a floral boutique est. 1918

1918- The quant flower shop started with a field of gladiolas, and is deep rooted in the early days of Audubon, New Jersey. Leigh Florist was originally established by an innovative florist and nurseryman, Samuel Leigh. He was known for his talent, hard work and a passion for plants and flowers. Serving the early days of the south Jersey community and Philadelphia area. The daily flower shop sales log book has been donated from the year 1918 to the Audubon historical society.

1953- Samuel Leigh, handed the shop down to his talented apprentice, Len Johnson. Len and his wife Rose served the community and spread their kindness through flowers. Len found a calling in community growing and propagating plants, designing fresh flowers and spent his life helping and inspiring people.

1972- Leigh Florist, had become a local staple in the growing community. At this time Len was ready to retire the shop to an employee, Ron Bakely, who ran the flower shop as a family business from 1970-2004.

2004- As fate would decide, Denise Leigh Herker a budding florist found the adorable flower shop for sale in 2014. Serendipity!! The moment Denise set eyes on the charming little shop; she knew it was meant to be, especially since her middle name was already on the sign!

2018- Leigh Florist is an inspired studio with a creative team with a collective passion for flowers and design. With fresh beautiful arrangements and expert wedding design, the shop has blossomed to the top, recognized as one of the best floral studios in the South Jersey and greater Philadelphia area. Denise – has been the owner of Leigh Florist since 2004, Denise has been designing flowers for over fifteen years. She has a passion for design and is inspired by all things in nature. Her innovative ideas keep the shop trending forward with each season and year. Denise’s style brings a flutter of originality to her quaint studio, while her experience with European, French Country and Japanese floral design allows her the flexibility to satisfy an array of requests. Her mission is to spread the gift of flowers for all of life’s special events. Stop in to meet Denise and the designers to experience their stunning floral designs.

Lisa – is best known for her lavish garden inspired designs and delicate details. With over 20 years design experience, her talent brings a wealth of knowledge to the studio along with a specialty for all things pretty. Experience the best of the season with a beautiful design by Lisa.

Madison - with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, Madison is talented artist, planner and teacher with over 15 years’ experience in the floral industry. She is best known for her ingenuity and enthusiasm, along with a passion for flowers and a specialty in keeping things organized.

Mallory – is best known for her floral artistry, with a dash of engineering and a sprinkling of pizzazz! She has over 9 years’ of design experience in the floral industry, and is a graduate of Interior Architecture and Design from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Mallory brings innovation and originality to her event planning and design style, along with an expert knowledge of colors and seasonal elements.

Jane - comes to us all the way from the UK with over 20 years of floral experience. She studied at Solihull University and received her floral certification from City & Guilds and The Royal Horticultural Society. When she's not making our brides floral dreams come true you will find her tending to her own garden. An animal lover through and through, Jane loves spending time with her chiweenie pup, Frankie. Her love and knowledge of flowers make her an integral part of our team.
